Full job description

Withers' English-law training contract lasts two years across four six-month seats in its London office, with a supervisor, trainee buddy and partner mentor and training in areas such as negotiating and business development. Applications for the 2029 intake open on Thursday 1 October 2026 and close on Friday 8 January 2027, and candidates apply to either the vacation scheme or the training contract in a given year, not both. The process is a contextual application form, an online Cappfinity assessment, a proofreading test, a 50-minute online interview and an assessment centre with group and role-play exercises and a partner interview. Applicants need, or be on track for, a 2:1 and AAB at A-level, and undergraduates must be at least in the penultimate year of a qualifying law degree or final year of a non-law degree, or already graduated.
