As an Analyst in William Blair's newly established European Private Capital Markets team, you will execute in-depth analyses to support new business development, transaction execution and the delivery of private capital raising solutions to high-growth, technology-driven businesses. You will perform research and financial modelling, apply core valuation methods, and complete due diligence activities at the direction of the team lead across growth equity raises, private placements, structured equity and recapitalisations. You will be based in London or Amsterdam, working closely with the PCM team. You will bring a genuine passion for technology and disruptive business models, working closely with client staff and the European investor ecosystem to advance projects, gathering necessary information, describing financial modelling methodology, and presenting results directly related to the scope of analysis. You will also provide training and mentorship to summer interns and less experienced Analysts as the team grows. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to: perform due diligence, research, analysis and documentation of potential and live transactions, identifying potential deal issues and properly escalating concerns; draft management presentations to highlight financial analysis and research results and help build differentiated equity stories for private capital investors; assist in the development, production and delivery of proposals and presentations to founders, management teams and investors, drafting marketing materials that emphasise the advantages of William Blair's private capital markets approach; participate in client meetings and drafting sessions; research technology and technology-enabled sub-sectors as identified by senior bankers, monitoring key industry drivers; seek opportunities to streamline processes; support client relationship development; develop an understanding of the macro and technology factors related to client sectors, private capital markets products and their potential implications; mentor summer interns and invest in teaching subsequent classes of Analysts, helping build the culture of a new team. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required. Internship or prior work experience in the financial services industry preferred; exposure to private capital, growth equity or technology is an advantage. Proven track record in university studies required. A genuine passion for technology, innovation and disruptive business models. Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities. Excellent mathematical, writing, verbal and computer skills. Ability to adapt to new tasks with little notice. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Strong desire to win, combined with the entrepreneurial drive to help build a new team. Developing increasingly sound judgement. Thorough understanding of accounting and finance. Commitment to satisfying internal and external customers. Travel required: approximately 5%. Targeted start date for this role will be September / October 2026.
