Full job description
Skadden's London office fills all of its trainee places, about 20 a year starting each September, through its vacation schemes, and it has no direct training contract route. The schemes run over two weeks with a spread across two departments: 30 March to 9 April, 12 to 23 April and 21 June to 2 July, and pay 500 pounds a week, with extra help for travel, workplace clothing and sometimes accommodation. The application window runs from 1 September to 1 December 2026 (the AllHires portal lists it as the 2027 Vacation Scheme and 2029 Training Contract) and is open to penultimate-year law students, final-year non-law students and graduates with at least a 2:1. Stages are an application, an online psychometric and competency assessment, a written exercise, a two-lawyer video interview, then the scheme. Trainees earn 58,000 pounds in year one and 63,000 in year two, with PGDL and SQE fees and a 20,000 pound maintenance grant per course, and the page states no visa position.
