Full job description
Simpson Thacher's London office offers a two-week vacation scheme with a private equity focus, and the spring scheme runs 5 to 16 April 2027 while the summer scheme runs 14 to 25 June 2027. Students sit within a practice group on live work, get feedback and a mentor, and are paid 1,500 pounds gross for the two weeks. The firm asks for a 2:1 (achieved or predicted) and AAB at A level or equivalent, and takes any degree subject. The scheme is the only route to a training contract, with trainees starting in October and the firm currently recruiting for 2028 and 2029. Both schemes close on 20 December 2026, applications are reviewed after the deadline rather than on a rolling basis, and international applicants are welcome but must have the right to work.
