Full job description

RWE Generation places a student as an outage support engineer in the project planning and commercial management group for its gas stations, based at one of its generating sites. Duties include project preparation and planning, coordinating activities and resources sent to site, supporting site set-up, preparing health, safety, environment and wellbeing documentation, supporting risk, change and improvement processes and contributing to project meetings, alongside operations, maintenance and engineering teams and contractors, with occasional regional travel and extended hours. It suits BEng or MEng mechanical engineering students, though related engineering, maths or science degrees with an interest in energy are welcome. The placement is a full-time, fixed-term 13 months starting on 28 June 2027, and applicants should send a CV and cover letter by 30 October 2026, although the advert may close earlier if enough applications arrive. Shortlisted candidates attend a face-to-face assessment centre in Swindon on 24 November 2026 with travel and accommodation paid by RWE.
