Full job description
RWE Generation offers an industrial placement at its Didcot B power station within the mechanical maintenance team. The student helps solve real engineering problems, supports outage planning and delivery including pre-outage checks and work packs, manages spares and stock reviews, coordinates contractors, supports failure and root-cause investigations and does data analysis on plant issues, with possible shift time alongside operations. Applicants should be studying a BEng or MEng in mechanical engineering with a placement year built in, or a closely related discipline with mechanical interests, and be comfortable working on site in full PPE. The placement is a full-time, fixed-term 13 months starting on 28 June 2027, and applicants should send a CV and cover letter by 30 October 2026, although the advert may close earlier if enough applications arrive. Shortlisted candidates attend a face-to-face assessment centre in Swindon on 24 November 2026 with travel and accommodation paid by RWE.
