RWE Generation offers a placement in the Rotating Equipment team of its Engineering and Outage group, which sets technical strategy and manages performance and risk for the gas and steam turbines in its gas fleet. The student works with mechanical engineers on real portfolio problems, analyses data to diagnose faults for short and long-term projects, gains site experience and may spend time on shift with operations. Locations named in the advert are Swindon, Little Barford and Didcot, and the role suits BEng or MEng mechanical engineering students, though related engineering, maths or science degrees with an energy interest are welcome; a driving licence is preferred for travel between sites.
