RWE Generation offers a mechanical engineering placement at Didcot within its Engineering and Outage group, which looks after the technical strategy and risk of the gas turbines and steam turbines across its gas-fired fleet. The student works with mechanical engineers on real engineering problems, uses data analysis to diagnose issues in short and long-term projects, gains site experience and practical skills, and may join operations shifts. It suits BEng or MEng mechanical engineering students, though other engineering, maths or science degrees with an interest in energy are welcomed, and a driving licence is preferred as the role may involve travel to other sites. The placement is a full-time, fixed-term 13 months starting on 28 June 2027, and applicants should send a CV and cover letter by 30 October 2026, although the advert may close earlier if enough applications arrive.
