Full job description
RWE Generation offers a placement in its Gas Asset Management group in Swindon focused on expert digital systems used to monitor and optimise power station assets. The student helps develop and run tools such as Mara and CPM, applies data analytics and visualisation techniques to real business cases such as building failure models for plant equipment, and supports Generation and IT colleagues including on data quality. Applicants should be studying an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical or chemical/process, with thermodynamics knowledge, strong data science and analytical skills and use of tools like Seeq, PI Vision and Python. The placement is a full-time, fixed-term 13 months starting on 28 June 2027, and applicants should send a CV and cover letter by 30 October 2026, although the advert may close earlier if enough applications arrive. Shortlisted candidates attend a face-to-face assessment centre in Swindon on 24 November 2026 with travel and accommodation paid by RWE.
