Full job description

RWE Generation places a student in its Gas Engineering and Outage group, which handles electrical and control work across outages and projects at combined-cycle gas plants in the UK, Netherlands and Germany. The student can be based at Pembroke, Staythorpe, Didcot or Little Barford, gives engineering support to keep the stations running safely and flexibly, analyses data to diagnose faults, helps develop asset integrity processes and delivers plant improvement investigations, and assists with outage work packages. Applicants should be studying a BEng or MEng in engineering or science with a placement year in the course and accept UK and occasional European travel with overnight stays, expenses paid. The placement is a full-time, fixed-term 13 months starting on 28 June 2027, and applicants should send a CV and cover letter by 30 October 2026, although the advert may close earlier if enough applications arrive. Shortlisted candidates attend a face-to-face assessment centre in Swindon on 24 November 2026 with travel and accommodation paid by RWE.
