Full job description

RWE Generation places a student in its Gas Asset Management group, working on plant performance testing and troubleshooting for its gas-fired stations. The student joins hands-on performance tests in the UK and possibly the EU, works with performance engineers to gather and validate test data using digital tools and expert systems, supports contractual and OEM acceptance tests, builds thermodynamic models and interprets results, and learns how test outcomes shape commercial decisions. The role is based at Ferrybridge and suits students of an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical or chemical/process, with thermodynamics knowledge and strong analytical aptitude, using tools such as Seeq and PI Vision. The placement is a full-time, fixed-term 13 months starting on 28 June 2027, and applicants should send a CV and cover letter by 30 October 2026, although the advert may close earlier if enough applications arrive. Shortlisted candidates attend a face-to-face assessment centre in Swindon on 24 November 2026 with travel and accommodation paid by RWE.
