A Lockheed Martin Apprenticeship at the Ampthill site helps apprentices develop the practical skills and knowledge needed to join a highly skilled team of Electrical and Mechanical Assembly Technicians. Training covers a comprehensive range of electrical assembly techniques, interpreting drawings and working from written instructions, use of hand tools and measuring and test equipment, liaising with Engineering and manufacturing team leaders to improve electrical assembly methods and design, using problem-solving techniques to resolve process-related issues, prioritising workload to meet delivery timelines, and applying 6S principles and lean manufacturing/continuous improvement tools and techniques. Requirements: GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C) in English and Maths, plus a minimum of two A-Levels including Maths or Physics, or a completed Level 3 Extended Diploma in an engineering-related discipline; a strong work ethic, positive attitude and desire to learn new skills; and an interest in electrical assembly through either practical experience or study. Applicants with relevant technical or hands-on hobbies are encouraged to include these on their CV. Salary 23,013 pounds, full time, 37.5 hours per week on a 4xFlex working schedule (including the option of a 4-day week with Fridays off). Requires BPSS clearance. Based at Lockheed Martin UK's Ampthill site, which focuses on Platform Integration, Ground Based Air Defence, Special Projects and Weapons for the Ministry of Defence and other customers.
