Lockheed Martin UK is hiring Software Engineering Graduates to join teams at its Gloucester office, training to build critical solutions in cutting-edge technologies under the general direction and support of a Software Engineering Lead. The role suits candidates who enjoy solving complex problems, want to learn and apply new technical skills, are curious about how AI can augment modern software engineering, and enjoy collaborating with colleagues in office-based Agile teams. Duties include working alongside senior engineers in discussions with customers to elicit requirements and convert operational needs into technical specifications, designing and implementing software solutions to meet defined acceptance criteria, writing clean and maintainable code while applying best practice and reviewing others' code, championing automation through Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and test automation, supporting Integration & Test teams during formal test phases, and performing technical investigations of problems raised against operational systems. Requirements: a degree in a STEM subject, preferably Computer Science or Software Engineering; a good understanding of object-oriented programming and experience with one or more of Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript or React; knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB; awareness of Agile, Cloud, DevSecOps or GitLab is a plus; good communication skills; and the ability to work well in a team and manage your own time to meet project needs. Salary 34,000 pounds plus comprehensive benefits, full time, 37.5 hours per week on a 4xFlex working schedule. Requires DV (Developed Vetting) clearance, the UK's highest level of national security vetting, which typically requires British nationality or a long-standing connection to the UK, so international students should check their own eligibility before applying.
