Kingsley Napley recruits trainees about two years ahead, accepting applications from December to March for training contracts starting the following September two years later; applications for the 2029 intake reopen in December 2026. The firm takes seven to nine trainees a year, who complete four six-month seats and follow the SQE route, with full SQE funding and maintenance grants of 9,000 pounds for SQE, 10,000 for those who did the LPC and 7,000 for the PGDL. Applicants must at least be in the penultimate year of a law degree or the final year of a non-law degree, and graduates and career changers may also apply, with no minimum grades. The process runs through the Candid system with online tests, a video presentation, a case study, a screening call, a group exercise and a final in-person interview, with offers in June or July. The firm's FAQ says it accepts international candidates and will support visa sponsorship where required, provided they are eligible to work in the UK.
