Full job description

King & Spalding recruits four trainees a year for its London office, split across March and September intakes, and this round is for March and September 2029 starts. Applications run from 1 October 2026 to February 2027, with no exact closing day published. Applicants should be in the penultimate year of a law degree, the final year of a non-law degree or already graduated, from any discipline or university. Shortlisted candidates attend a half-day in-person assessment at the London office, planned for March or April 2027, with a partner or counsel interview, a written exercise and a negotiation exercise, followed by partner panel interviews in April or May 2027. Trainees work across areas such as international arbitration, energy and projects, finance and funds, with secondments possible, and the page gives no salary or visa statement.
