Jones Day's winter vacation scheme in London runs from 30 November to 11 December 2026, with attendees working on real matters, joining group exercises and workshops, and getting a taste of the firm's non-rotational training system. Applications opened on 1 September 2026 and close on 16 October 2026, with assessment centres on 13 October, 3 November and 10 November 2026. There is no direct training contract route; all trainees are recruited from scheme attendees, and a scheme application counts as an application for a training contract starting September 2029. Candidates choose a first and second choice of scheme and applications are screened, interviewed and offered on a rolling basis, so early applications are advised. Final-year students, graduates, postgraduates and career changers from any discipline can apply, as can penultimate-year students on qualifying law degrees, and a strong 2:1 is needed with no minimum school grades. The firm says it holds a Skilled Worker sponsorship licence for only a very limited number of candidates.
