Full job description
Jones Day's summer vacation scheme in London runs from 28 June to 9 July 2027, giving attendees real client work, a trainee mentor and lunches and dinners with staff. Applications opened on 1 September 2026 and close on 8 January 2027, with assessment centres on 23 February, 9 March and 27 April 2027. There is no direct training contract route; all trainees are recruited from scheme attendees, and a scheme application counts as an application for a training contract starting September 2029. Candidates choose a first and second choice of scheme and applications are screened, interviewed and offered on a rolling basis, so early applications are advised. Final-year students, graduates, postgraduates and career changers from any discipline can apply, as can penultimate-year students on qualifying law degrees, and a strong 2:1 is needed with no minimum school grades. The firm says it holds a Skilled Worker sponsorship licence for only a very limited number of candidates.
