Full job description
iSAM, a quantitative trading firm made up of iSAM Securities and iSAM Funds, is recruiting PhD students for 12-week research internships based in London, running in Winter 2026 and Summer 2027. Interns are embedded in one of three areas: quantitative trading at iSAM Securities, quantitative research on the iSAM options desk, or quantitative research within iSAM Funds. The work centres on building and testing systematic signals and strategies, analysing large financial datasets, coding models in Python, backtesting, and presenting findings to senior researchers and portfolio managers. Applicants must be in the penultimate year of a PhD in a quantitative subject such as mathematics, physics, statistics or computer science, with expected completion in 2026 or 2027, plus strong statistics, probability and Python skills; finance experience is not needed. Applications go through the employer's Greenhouse form, which asks for a CV and details of the applicant's right to work in the UK. No closing date, pay or visa sponsorship statement is given.
