Full job description
DLA Piper's paid in-person summer internship for 2027 lasts two to three weeks, normally from mid June to mid July, and includes a shared induction in London before interns work in their chosen office (Yorkshire (Leeds)). Interns take on real client matters and are assessed for a place on the firm's Future Lawyers Pathway, its training contract route starting in autumn 2029. Law students can apply from the second year of a three-year degree, in their final year or as graduates, while non-law applicants must be in their final year, graduated or changing career, with extra rules for Edinburgh because of Scottish qualification. Applications opened on 21 September 2026 and this office closes on 20 November 2026, and candidates first complete an anonymous realistic job preview. Applicants need the right to work full time for the whole internship, and the firm states it cannot sponsor visas for the summer internship, although it can for trainee offers later.
