Full job description
About the program: The Deutsche Bank Internship Program is designed to help you develop your skills through formal training and continuous support. You'll quickly gain the confidence to take on real projects by learning first-hand how and what we deliver for clients worldwide. About the Division: Quantitative Research & Development Labs (QRD Labs) is a research and development team within DB Group Strategic Analytics (GSA). Its central mission is to empower the sales and trading functions with quantitative data-driven models and tools that leverage the latest developments in the AI/ML space. You will have the opportunity to use your strong foundational knowledge in deep learning and/or natural language processing to build solutions for the business which are both practical and innovative. You'll engage with colleagues in Front Office and other areas to develop novel, high impact AI solutions for their teams. You'll work with a team of seasoned experts to find data-driven solutions to challenging business problems, identifying suitable data and models, developing, and evaluating prototype models rapidly and helping to accelerate the adoption of solutions in production. About the role: Our interns learn about our business through on-the-job experience. You may find yourself working on one large project for the entire internship or a series of smaller projects, much as you would do as a full-time member of the team. What we look for: You must be studying a post-graduate specialist degree (MSc or PhD) in a quantitative subject such as mathematics, engineering, physics, economics or finance. Strong ground-up understanding of ML and AI models, from the fundamentals of machine learning to Deep Learning, with experience of its application in NLP or other domains. An ability to break down complex business problems and address them with a range of models and techniques. Strong quantitative skills, e.g. statistics, probability theory, optimisation, linear algebra. Good Python and associated ML ecosystem skills; an understanding of lower-level languages is a bonus. Please note that to progress onto the final stage assessment, applicants will need to attend an in-person technical test on a specified date and location, which is not flexible. To be eligible for the 2027 UK Quant Internship programme you must: Complete your studies between 1st May 2026 and 30th November 2027. As the programme is due to start between May 2027 and June 2027, this means you may still be studying when you join the programme. In this case you are still eligible to join provided you have completed all of your exams before your start date and must complete your studies (any remaining coursework and have no outstanding requirements for graduation) by 30th November 2027. Have already achieved a 2:1 or First (or equivalent) in your undergraduate degree and be on track for or have already achieved a pass/merit/distinction (or equivalent) in your postgraduate degree either before you join, or by 30th November 2027. Possess no more than 12 months full-time, relevant work experience. The internship will start between May and June 2027 and will have a duration of 18 weeks. How to apply: Please visit careers.db.com/students-graduates to apply. Please note you may only make ONE application per recruitment season in the UK.
