Debevoise says its 2029 training contract intake is now open, with around 11 trainees hired each year in London. All trainees are drawn from the pool of candidates who attend the vacation scheme, so the route in is the open day and scheme application, which closes at 23:59 on 4 January 2027. Training is four six-month seats, possibly including time in another international office, and second-year trainees attend the LAUNCH programme in New York. First-year pay is 60,000 pounds rising to 65,000 in year two, with full PGDL and SQE fees paid through The University of Law and a 20,000 pound yearly maintenance grant. The firm FAQ says it accepts applicants who need a work permit and will help obtain work permits and visas if a training contract is secured, though the offer depends on that permit being granted.
