The D. E. Shaw group seeks motivated, intellectually curious students to join the firm's Investor Relations (IR) team as interns. This team plays a pivotal role in managing relationships with current and prospective investors. IR interns collaborate with a global team of investor relations professionals to learn about the firm's investment strategies, products, and clients in a collegial work environment. This is a ten-week program that is expected to run from June to August 2027. What you'll do day-to-day: take on projects that require rigorous analytical thinking and creative problem solving; responsibilities may include helping enhance various communication efforts, conducting prospect- and investor-focused research, participating in brainstorming sessions with colleagues, or attending meetings with investors. Who we're looking for: an impressive record of academic achievement with demonstrated intellectual curiosity and keen analytical skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills, a structured approach to solving problems and driving projects forward, and exceptional attention to detail; a client-focused approach, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team; curiosity to learn more about corporate strategy, capital markets, or the economy; experience with consulting, venture capital, economic research, or product management/strategy through clubs or internships is a plus but not required; current enrollment in a bachelor's or postgraduate degree program in any field of study, with no previous finance experience necessary. The applicable annual base salary or hourly rate paid to a successful applicant will be determined based on multiple factors, including the nature and extent of prior experience and educational background.
