The team: The Technology Infrastructure programme offers non-software development roles in the Chief Technology organisation (CTO), meeting the needs of clients and employees by working alongside technology teams to design, implement and support the applications and infrastructure underpinning trading applications, payment systems, mobile applications, and other end-user technology. Programme Overview Our summer analyst programme is designed to provide a unique experience based on your interests and current business needs, across teams including Hosting/Application/Database Services, Network Services, Business Operations, Datacentre Services and Portfolio Management, and Mainframe Services. Responsibilities, by role: Infrastructure Engineer - Support technology infrastructure underpinning the bank's services, including servers, storage, databases and data centres. Cloud Solutions Engineer - Support delivery of secure and reliable cloud-based solutions, gaining exposure to cloud technologies, automation and security. Network Engineer - Support internal and external networks connecting infrastructure systems, applications and users globally. Mainframe Engineer - Support and improve large-scale, business-critical systems, gaining experience with automation, monitoring, reliability, and performance. Service Delivery - Support project planning, reporting, stakeholder engagement, budgeting, and business performance activities. Eligibility Candidates are required to be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a completion time frame between September 2027 and July 2028. To be eligible to apply for this role in Chester, you must have the right to work in the UK as visa sponsorship is not available. On track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent). Must be available to join the programme from June 2027 to August 2027. What we are looking for Essential: - Show demonstrable evidence of self-learning outside of studies - Display clear motivation for exploring a Technology career within financial services - Demonstrate capacity for innovative thinking and strong problem solving - Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills - Display evidence of strong teamwork, leadership, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Fluency in written and spoken English is a pre-requisite - Demonstrates integrity and ethics Desired: - A technical qualification e.g. Computer Science - Background or knowledge in programming/scripting (e.g., Python, XML, JavaScript, Windows PowerShell), operating system commands, databases (e.g. SQL), and analysing datasets, Cloud DevOps skills
