The team: Bank of America's Global Capital Markets business comprises Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Equity Capital Markets (ECM), Leveraged Finance (LevFin) and Sustainable Solutions Group (SSG). Across these groups, clients include investment grade and sub-investment grade corporates, financial institutions, private equity firms and sovereign, supranational and sovereign (SSA) issuers. DCM products include bonds, loans, capital products, liability management and FX and rates solutions. ECM products include IPOs, accelerated book buildings, rights issues, convertible bonds and bespoke derivatives transactions. Leveraged Finance products include leveraged loans and high yield bonds to support acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, take-private, dividend recapitalisations and refinancings of existing sub-investment grade issuers and private equity portfolio companies. SSG advises clients on sustainability-related matters that influence financing, valuation and strategic decision-making, working closely with Investment Banking, DCM and ECM to deliver sustainable finance solutions. Programme Overview: the Capital Markets Summer Analyst programme offers a broad experience working within one of these teams, with exposure to and connectivity with the other groups throughout. Applicants may indicate a preference between DCM, ECM, LevFin or SSG; successful candidates could be placed within any of the four. Training and Development: extensive formal training at the start of the programme, plus on-the-job support, educational speaker events and mentorship throughout. Responsibilities may include: working alongside product specialists directly with clients at top management level to create and deliver financing solutions; developing a strong understanding of market fundamentals and making market-informed contributions on financing strategies; designing tailored presentations for clients; working on live transactions and interacting with clients and professionals across the bank; working closely with Investment Banking and Corporate Banking teams on client coverage and origination; developing an understanding of how investors integrate sustainability into investment decisions; working with sales teams and traders in Global Markets to coordinate live deal executions, and liaising with Global Research. Eligibility: pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree with a completion time frame between June 2027 and July 2028 (evidence of this completion date may be requested before an offer is extended); on track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification or equivalent; applications accepted from a diverse range of degree disciplines, including arts and humanities as well as numerically focused subjects; fluency in English essential, proficiency in a European language highly desirable. Candidates who perform well may be offered full-time employment starting July 2028, with some lines of business also offering January or April start dates; candidates must be available for one of these start dates if offered, as deferrals are not available. What we are looking for, essential: fluency in English for all roles, local language required for regional roles; degrees from a diverse range of disciplines, with a preference for Leveraged Finance applicants with previous coursework or internship experience in finance; drive, innovation, and a genuine interest in financial markets; teamwork, leadership, problem-solving skills and creativity; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; analytical and problem-solving skills. Desired: competent user of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
