Six-month part-time (about 20 hrs/week) commodities quant analyst internship in London from autumn 2026; rolling hiring. Sourced 21 Sept 2026.

Full job description

Balyasny is looking for a part-time quantitative analyst intern for a London-based Commodities portfolio management team focused on European power, working in person at the London office for about 20 hours a week starting in the autumn for six months. The intern works alongside the portfolio manager on data gathering, analysis and data-driven idea generation, including independent quantitative projects, forecast and model-error analysis, evaluating new datasets, and actively using AI to solve problems. The advert asks for a current master's student in computer science, maths, engineering, data science or another STEM field, strong Python and SQL, Git, and knowledge of common statistical modelling methods. This posting itself does not mention visa sponsorship; the firm's general internships FAQ says it sponsors work authorization for international interns and that it hires interns on a rolling basis, but it is unclear whether that covers this part-time role. No closing date is shown.
