Full job description
This paid summer internship at Baillie Gifford is aimed at penultimate-year students on a technology-related degree, and it runs on site in Edinburgh from mid-June to late August 2027. Interns are grouped into cohorts working on live projects tied either to the Application Development and Enablement department or to the Innovation department, with exposure to AI and large language models, modern cloud tooling, DevOps and agile practice, and R&D work in Python. After an induction they deliver a real project with support from technical and business leads and spend time with other technology teams. Applicants share a CV and answer one scored question, and can apply to only one of the two internship streams. The firm says it cannot sponsor visas for the internship and candidates must already have UK right to work; applications close on 3 November 2026, and strong interns may be considered for the following year's graduate programme.
